Report a listing or user

A person reads every report. Here’s how to file one and what happens next.

How to report

Three ways, all of which reach the same place:

  1. The Report control on the listing or inside the message thread. This is the fastest option because it attaches the listing and conversation automatically.
  2. The Feedback button that floats on every page. Use this for anything that isn’t tied to one specific listing.
  3. Email support@listdmarket.com with the listing URL, the member’s profile link, and screenshots.

A useful report includes:

  • The listing URL or the member’s profile URL
  • What happened, in plain terms, and roughly when
  • Screenshots of the messages, if messages are the problem
  • Whether money changed hands, and how much, and by what method

What to report

  • Scams and fraud — fake listings, requests for gift cards, wire transfers, or crypto, deposits demanded up front, or pressure to move off Listd.
  • Stolen property — don’t confront the seller. Report it to us and to your local police department. Include the VIN, HIN, or serial number if it’s posted. See Serial Watch.
  • Prohibited items — anything on the prohibited list.
  • Harassment, threats, or hate speech — in messages or in a listing.
  • Impersonation or fake accounts, including someone listing property that isn’t theirs to list.
  • Discriminatory listings, particularly in housing.
  • Bugs and broken features — not a safety issue, but we want those too. Include your device and the page URL.

What happens after you report

  1. It reaches a human. Reports are logged and routed to our support queue immediately. Nothing sits in an automated void.
  2. We review the evidence — the listing, the account history, the message thread, and any prior reports against the same member.
  3. We act. Depending on what we find: no action, a warning, the listing hidden or removed, or the account suspended or banned. Serious cases get preserved for law enforcement.
  4. We follow up if we need more from you. We generally can’t share the outcome of an investigation into another member’s account, for their privacy and yours.

Expect an acknowledgement within 1 business day. Safety reports jump the queue.

Reporting is confidential. We don’t tell the person you reported them, and we don’t share your identity with them.

Copyright — DMCA takedowns

If a listing uses your copyrighted photos or content, that’s a separate legal process with its own required elements. File a formal notice through our DMCA takedown page, which also explains how to submit a counter-notice if your listing was removed in error.

Law enforcement requests

Sworn officers with a valid legal process should use the Law enforcement request portal rather than the general support address — it routes to the right people and captures the information we need to respond.

Every request is logged in our records (the law_enforcement_requests table) with the requesting agency, the legal basis, and what we disclosed, so there is an audit trail on both sides. We require valid legal process for user data, we scope our responses to what is actually requested, and we notify the affected user unless we’re legally prohibited from doing so. Our Privacy Policy covers this in detail.
